These are the top discussions over the last 24-hours that mention the VFV.TO stock ticker symbol.
Please forgive me if this is a very obvious/noob question, but I’m trying to understand why everyone suddenly investing in VEQT/XEQT? Is it because the price/share is relatively low right now and the ... Read More
- (13 points, 2 replies) My portfolio is 100% VEQT and I consider it safer than VFV because it eliminates single-country risk. There's also a good amount of evidence that mid and small cap companies outperform large, so I don't see the point in sticking to an arbitrary cutoff of 500 companies.
- (9 points) You can search this topic up, tons of posts about it already. Comes down to preference, generally it appears like the X/VEQT will outperform over 30 years. But VFV would have done better the past decade. So recency bias comes into play. Also can’t tell what the future holds, maybe America becomes a bigger powerhouse and “emerging markets” never emerge. Then VFV would be best. But maybe America curtails, the world looks more balanced in 20-30 years with all markets somewhat level. I personally think the fee is negligible, and it’s more about risk tolerance.
- (4 points) Had this come to mind as well. I just split it. TFSA just for VFV/ Banks and RRSP VEQT
